About

Mary Stanley is an Army veteran, entrepreneur, Certified Autism Specialist, trauma-informed specialist, educator, advocate, and public speaker whose work centers around one guiding belief:

Making the Impossible Possible.

Mary enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17 and served for 15 years, with experience in Search & Rescue Aviation and Nutrition. Her military service shaped her leadership, resilience, commitment to service, and belief that people are often capable of far more than circumstances lead them to believe.

Today, Mary is the founder of Supportive Minds™, where she works to help neurodivergent individuals, families, caregivers, educators, and communities better understand autism, trauma, behavior, nervous-system regulation, and the person behind the diagnosis or behavior.

She is also involved with Ability Village, helping expand education, resources, advocacy, accessibility, and community connections for individuals with disabilities, special-needs families, veterans, caregivers, professionals, and organizations.

Through Freedom Route Travel, Mary carries the same philosophy into travel by helping make experiences that may once have seemed impossible more accessible to neurodivergent travelers, individuals with disabilities, veterans, families, groups, and businesses.

As a speaker, Mary combines professional education with lived experience as a veteran, entrepreneur, advocate, and parent. She speaks about resilience, leadership, trauma, neurodiversity, accessibility, entrepreneurship, overcoming barriers, and creating opportunities where people may have previously been told something could not be done.

Her message is simple:

The impossible often becomes possible when we stop asking, “Can this person do it?” and start asking, “What do they need to make it possible?”
